The course is based on material outlined in the book Music the Healer and is designed to assist students in developing confidence in their own inner strength and ability to heal. This is developed through the experiential nature of the work with the tones, exploring the method in full, and completing various case studies, assignments, workshops, and individual sessions.
The training provides an opportunity for the student to develop skills in self-observation and creativity by tapping into their intuition and unconscious inner resources. The use of the tones in evoking responses and images leads the student to develop a symbolic understanding of such experiences.
The course has three levels:

-
The first level is devoted to the development of self-awareness, identification of strengths, weaknesses, and any hidden issues needing transformation.
-
The second level extends the depth and knowledge of the course material with the student more at ease in using the method.
-
The third level provides true expertise and mastery.
The course is open to musicians and non-musicians, therapists, trainees and those seeking a deeper knowledge of Self and the workshops can be attended on a casual stand-alone basis for those not requiring formal training. As it is a self-paced curriculum, prospective students may commence at any time.

A Certificate of Completion is awarded on the successful completion of each level.
Details of the course requirements are provided below.
Testimonial
Claire Dunne: Broadcaster / Producer, Author of Carl Jung: Wounded Healer of the Soul, in a personal reflection, having studied the course, wrote:

“Mary combines a classical music background with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, chamber music and solo playing, with Jungian studies in the USA, England and Switzerland, [and] an intuitive ability to improvise. She
pioneered the single musical tone as a microcosm that contains everything, a ‘riveting of attention in a concentration of sound’, each tone evoking its own emotional response and memory patterns.
“She assists clients to identify problem areas, by their sounding of opposing tones; and she helps bring them into balance by creating a spontaneous musical bridge that contains both, yet is more than either. Mary told me she
hears the music in her head just before she brings it through on her violin.

“This is a healing process of classic psychological principles, with music as a reconciling tool working with, and from, its psycho-spiritual intuitive centre - healer, client, and Source together.”
